he Employment and Education Department is now providing back-to-school assistance in the form of school uniforms, school supplies, textbook assistance and tuition assistance. Services are offered to Berkeley, Dorchester and Charleston County residents of all ages. Some additional documentation may be required to complete an application. Palmetto CAP’s General Emergency Assistance Program (or GEAP) provides financial assistance to households who have encountered an unexpected financial hardship including rental assistance to avoid eviction. Assistance is provided once every 24 months.
